We are pleased to introduce three new additions to our 2021 JWI Board of Trustees: Mrs. Mary Ellen Bork, Prof. Gerry Bradley and Mr. Michael Crofton.
Mary Ellen Bork is a freelance writer and lecturer on issues of Catholic life and culture. Over the years, she has been an advocate for the pro-life and conservative legal movements, promoting Catholic culture through groups such as the John Carroll Society, Imago Dei (Theology of the Body), The Susan B. Anthony List, and the Catholic Campaign for America. Her articles have appeared in numerous national papers, including the National Catholic Register and the Washington Times. She is the wife of the late Judge Robert Bork.
Gerard "Gerry" Bradley teaches Constitutional Law and Legal Ethics at the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he also directs (with John Finnis) the Natural Law Institute and co-edits The American Journal of Jurisprudence, an international forum of legal philosophy. He served as president of the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars for many years and has been a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institute of Stanford University. Bradley received both his B.A. and his J.D. from Cornell University, graduating summa cum laude from the law school in 1980.
Michael G. Crofton is President and CEO of the Philadelphia Trust Company. Prior to founding the company he was a Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager and member of the portfolio review committee at Rittenhouse Financial Services, Inc. He also served as a Senior Vice President of the United States Trust Company where he managed mutual funds, institutional and individual assets and oversaw the trading, portfolio management and analytical staffs. Mr. Crofton serves on numerous corporate and eleemosynary boards including J. J. White Inc, Saucon Mutual Insurance Co., The James Madison Institute of Princeton University, The Witherspoon Institute and The Faith and Reason Institute. He also serves on the Board of Catholic Social Services and sits on Finance Council of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
In addition to welcoming our three new trustees, we would like to convey our deepest gratitude to Steve Pflaum and Ed Angelini who depart after serving as Trustees for many years. They greatly helped to further the mission of JWI. Thank you!
