Igor Babailov and the Art of the Portrait: Session with the Master

Please join us on Friday evening, November 4, for a lecture and demonstration by the distinguished artist, Igor Babailov, Hon. RAA, in a presentation entitled,

"Igor Babailov and the Art of the Portrait: Session with the Master" 

We will gather for drinks at 5:00pm in the Pan American Room at the Capital Hilton Hotel (1001 16th St. NW).  At 5:30pm, Maestro Babailov will give the audience a brief tour of his work, followed by a life portrait demonstration.

Maestro Babailov is a world-renowned American portrait and figurative artist, one of the most sought after portrait artists in the historic academic tradition.  Babailov has painted the officially commissioned portraits of world leaders and political figures including President George W. Bush, Vladimir Putin, Nelson Mandela, Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, HRH Prince Andrew and the last three Pontiffs for the Vatican – Pope Francis, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Saint John Paul II.  Recently, his multi-figurative painting “Credo” was unveiled at the National Shrine of St. John Paul II on the occasion of the canonization of Saint Teresa of Calcutta.  The painting features her with St. John Paul II, surrounded by 22 children.
